Significant changes have occurred in the context of the qualification of public agents in Brazil. Regarding the development of new skills and awareness of quality service for society, employees need to be prepared. Such changes are revealed through the introduction of new concepts. These concepts are artificial intelligence and information and communication technologies. Added to these factors is the provision of better quality public services as a requirement of society. On a continental scale, in the case of Brazil, the Distance Education (EaD) strategy. It increasingly presents itself as an opportunity to reduce regional inequalities and train public agents in the provision of services. In this sense, and with the purpose of stimulating the training of public administration agents, the Open University of Brazil Program (UAB) opened 90 thousand new vacancies in lato sensu undergraduate and postgraduate courses. In this regard, public agents belonging to the federal, state, district and municipal public administration staff benefit. The experience regarding the implementation of specialization courses in the broad area of knowledge of governance, accounting and public finance is reported here. The basis of this report is an exploratory research, of a qualitative nature, carried out with students from specialization courses in the distance learning modality, financed by CAPES/UAB. It is observed that, to a certain extent, the difficulties in accessing communication and information technologies and the use of distance learning tools have been overcome and that other variables arising from work activities that occur remotely have been a difficulty for the dedication of the public agent in their qualification process.
