NEOLIBERAL RATIONALITY
ESCAPES, LIMITS AND BORDERS OF EDUCATION
Keywords:
Education, Neoliberal rationality, Society, Democracy, SubjectivityAbstract
This work aims at presenting some thoughts on the insurgency of the modern school and its unfolding in the outlines and limits of neoliberal rationality, underlining its folds in the formation of a model of society and subjectivity. In view of this, the capillarity of discourses of neoliberal rationality is understood, discourses that order new ways of relating to knowledge, to others and to ourselves. This put, we flirt with a methodology in post-critical research, the cartography, which does not intend to list universal and neutral metanarratives, but claims for a research intentionality that produces and awakens reflections, moving away from a single format. In this sense, the method of cartographic research aims, from its inventive characteristic, to put science in constant motion, not only remaking its statements, but creating new problems and requiring original practices when investigating the social fabric. The body of the text highlights the arguments of researchers who have focused on the notion of neoliberal rationality in the educational field, pointing out to other paths and exits as alternatives beyond the limits of capitalism. At the end, the perspective of assumptions of democratic freedom, which underpin educational practices, is brought to the discussion, with a view to the production of an inclusive society, guided by scientific discoveries and advances that, above all, contribute to the formation of critical subjects.
