THE IMPLEMENTATION OF AN EAD TECHNICAL COURSE FOR TOURISM GUIDES IN THE AMAZON TRIPLE BORDER

The development of activities related to the area of Tourism in the state of Roraima, in the extreme north of the country, combined with the need to advance the teaching activities of the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of our State, created the possibility of offering the first technical course in Tour Guide in the Institution's Distance Education modality (EAD). Technical training has a practical and specific focus in order to develop, in students, the skills and competencies necessary to work in the different sectors that make up tourism. Technical courses prepare students to access the job market more quickly than other courses, as they focus on practical learning. This experience report aims to demonstrate the starting point of offering the Tourism Guide course until its execution in the EAD format and share the experience acquired in the offer of the referred EAD course. We bring a reflection on the transition from remote/face-to-face teaching to distance learning and on the aspects that need to be adjusted in view of the pursuit of excellence. We will present a brief explanation on how technical training in the area takes place, then we will report on the experience in offering the first technical course in Distance Learning Tourism Guide at the Institution in vogue.
