Professionalization in Public Management has been a constant concern in Brazil, especially after the 1995 reform based on the concepts of Managerial Administration. This precept, combined with the shortage of Public Management professionals in Brazilian municipalities, gave rise to the National Training Program in Public Administration (PNAP), which, through the creation and standardization of specific courses made available to all public institutions of higher education that are part of the Open University of Brazil system, which aims to qualify professionals in Public Administration. This study presents the evaluation and vision of graduates in Public Administration from the Federal University of Vales do Jequitinhonha and Mucuri, regarding the quality of the course, the learning of skills applied in their reality. As a data collection instrument, an online questionnaire was applied to the graduates and the transparency portals of the municipalities where these graduates were located were analyzed. According to the results obtained from the responses of the graduates who answered the questionnaire, the Public Administration course at the UFVJM meets the proposals of the PNAP in terms of quality, preparation for the job market, the significant participation of the workforce generated within the Management of Municipalities and demographic dispersion. However, the graduates report the context of the lack of opportunities and appreciation of the Public Administrator, opening up room for discussion regarding the implementation of mechanisms that enable the effective performance of professionals.
